A Workshop On Self-Awareness

Give yourself the best gift you can ever give: to know yourself.

The short of it |

Very often we don’t know what we want from life; our work, our relationships, our hobbies. It’s only human. So how do we figure out what we want? It all starts with self-awareness. But how do we get to know ourselves? Take the first step with my self-awareness workshop: real-world exercises to learn how to get to know yourself.

The long of it (but not that long, really) |

If you’ve ever felt like you don’t know what to do in your career, or that you don’t really connect with your friends and family, or don’t know why certain situations make you feel angry, or if you just feel plain bored with life — congratulations, you’re human! All of these feelings are a legitimate part of the human experience.

The beauty of being human is that we also have the means to do something about these feelings. To feel alive again, to feel loved again, to feel fulfilled again. Maybe it is possible to find a career that’s the right fit for us, or find a friend or two who bring out the best in us, or find a hobby that brings us joy.

But how do we turn things around? How do we live a life true to who we are? Do we know who we are? How do we make better decisions about our work, our loves or even our weekends? How do we figure out what’s really holding us back from achieving our fullest potential?

I believe that it all starts with self-awareness. Socrates said it best when he said at his trial, “The unexamined life is not worth living”. Getting to know oneself is arguably the most beautiful, complex and worthy of life’s goals.

I understand and appreciate this now. But it wasn’t always this way.

Throughout my twenties, I was stuck in a spiral of poor decisions, low self-esteem and self-hatred. I was miserable. I kept asking myself why I felt this way but my head was too much in a fog to get any answers. So in my thirties, I went on a quest to try and understand myself better. Through therapy, introspection and self-inquiry (and a wonderful partner!), I realized what was at the root of my difficulties and how I could overcome them. And now in my forties, I’m finally (mostly) comfortable with myself.

I know this sounds a bit far-fetched, but I truly believe that if everyone were more self-aware, this world would be slightly less terrible, because we would all be living more fulfilled, more authentic lives.

Alright, all of this sounds great. But how does one really get to know oneself? In all my years of research on this topic, I didn’t really come across anything that I liked, so I decided to create my own workshop.

With the help of fun, real-world exercises that I’ve curated over the years, this self-awareness workshop will teach you how to get to know yourself better. These exercises are timeless — you can come back and work on them again and again. And I recommend you do because we all change over the course of our lives.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll come away with your very own toolkit of exercises to understand how to get to know yourself.

Remember, getting to know yourself is a lifelong journey. This workshop won’t solve your life’s problems. But it will give you a wonderful head start into your very own journey of self-awareness.

Take the first step.
